What is really going on in my heel?
Problem: The plantar fascia connects and attaches to the heel bone. Increased bulging creates pain every time you land on your heel. The bulge is created by inflammation in and around the plantar facia. This bulge of inflammation in the plantar fascia is unstable and weak and leads to pain and instability in the heel when weight bearing. All treatment options cannot access or directly treat the plantar fascia that is why many treatment options fail and are not long lasting.
Solution: Shock Wave therapy produces mechanical pressure waves that go deep into the bulging and disorganized plantar fascia. Shock wave therapy can access the deep plantar facia. The pressure from the shock waves will decrease the bulge from the inflamed plantar fascia. Also creates a stable and reliable plantar fascia that does not get irritated when standing or movement.
Problem: The plantar fascia will create micro (small, tiny) tears in the fascia when its been strained. Over time micro blood vessels will grow into the tiny tears and feed inflammatory markers into the plantar fascia. Normal anatomy of plantar fascia doesn't have blood supply. The problem is there are micro vessels (aka. weeds) growing into the facia which creates lasting pain.
Solution: Both focused and radial shock wave therapy go deep into the plantar facia to weed out the micro vessels that have grown into the plantar fascia. The pressure waves create mechanical load on the tiny vessels and makes them retract out of the plantar fascia and significantly decrease the inflammation and pain in the fascia.
